For more than 30 years the Perelada winery and gardens have been home to a large community of storks that are now part of the landscape that sorrounds our winegrowers. This gentle and enveloping wine is elaborated with the sensitivity with which we welcome them.
In 1998, a pair of white storks nested for the first time in the gardens of the Castell de Peralada, marking the beginning of a reintroduction project led by the Suqué Mateu family in collaboration with the Parc Natural dels Aiguamolls de l'Empordà. Since then, the colony has grown to around thirty pairs, raising about fifty chicks each year.
The success in protecting these birds inspired the creation of Cigonyes, a range of wines that celebrates both the species and Perelada's commitment to biodiversity.
Made from native grape varieties, these wines stand out for their fruity, fresh, light, and approachable profile.
